Graduate students, undergraduate majors, and undergraduate non-majors — I enjoy teaching students at all levels! In recent years I’ve worked hard to move away from “chalk and talk” lecture-based classes toward active learning with lots of in-class activities, particularly when working with non-science majors. This shift has improved my teaching and led to two teaching awards in the past five years.
Temple’s Teaching and Learning Center has been a great resource. January, 2012 at the TLC’s annual Faculty Conference on Teaching Excellence I led a breakout session on “Networks of Knowledge: Helping Students Make Connections.”
