In honor of Black History Month, the CARE Lab, Black Girls Hack, and the Women in Cybersecurity (Temple Chapter) are co-hosting two events:
Virtual Panel: “A Chat with Black Professionals in Tech & Cybersecurity”
When: Tuesday, February 6th, 2024, from 6pm to 7.30pm ET
Speakers: Ian Kimble (Software Engineer, ED of Black Tech Philly), Jamie Williams (Senior Principal Cyber Operations Engineer / ATT&CK for Enterprise Lead), Hakeem Thomas (Project Manager, Randstad Digital), Tennisha Martin (Founder & Executive Director of Black Girls Hack)
What: Panelists will converse about their jobs, roles and responsibilities, the challenges they have faced in general, and more specifically as Black men, how they manage these challenges, and what needs to be done to support and encourage them in the field. This event is FREE and open to the public. Click here for more information.
Virtual Talk: “The cybercrime link from those behind the door (incarcerated) to those in the free world”
When: Tuesday, February 20th, 2024, from 6pm to 7.30pm ET
Speaker: Dr. Tessa Cole (Deputy Sheriff, an investigator with the Jail Investigation Unit, and Adjunct Professor)
What: Technology is a tool that is commonly exploited by criminals regardless of if they are incarcerated or in the “free world” to victimize others. The only solace we have is awareness of the potential threats and reacting when they attack with those dedicated in positions to help. This event is FREE and open to the public.
