You might remember this week as #YouAreWelcomeHere Week or Super Mega Global Week, but in 2023 we updated the name to reflect its comprehensiveness including all things global from learning about new cultures to studying abroad.
Though this year’s special global week, October 30 to November 1st, had a new name, the Temple community found the same warm and welcoming experience.
Events were well attended and included the Kickoff, an International Coffee Hour with a spotlight on Spain, a Study Abroad Fair, Tai Chi, Temple Lingo (an event representing over 15 languages), a Temple Rome Reunion and the final celebration at week’s end, the Global Gala, with performances by a wide variety of students representing different cultures.

“Everywhere students went during the week, they were able to get a taste and a sense of Temple as a global institution,” said Senior Vice Provost of Global Engagement and Dean of Temple Rome, Emilia Zankina.
Students echoed similar sentiments. “This event helps you find your community,” said international student, Flavia Astete Garcia.
