Four students present at GSA meeting in Seattle

The annual Geological Society of America (GSA) meeting was in Seattle this year and four students presented on different research projects:

Shondricka Burrell: A GEOPATH-funded math mentoring initiative for retention

Vince Carsillo: Mapping water infiltration of urban soils using electromagnetic induction and time-lapse electrical resistivity tomography

Jim Berglund: From sink to spring: interpreting local recharge and conduit flow using high-resolution data loggers and a finite element heat-and-mass transport fracture flow model

Chelsea Kanaley: In-stream sediment and nutrient response to storm events in an urban stream

Left to right:  Klavdiya Vasylenko and Tyler Forst (undergrads working with Ilya Buynevish), Chelsea, Jim and Vince. Jim wore his finite element tie for the talk!
