Hannah Tardie

Hannah Tardie (she/they) is the Makerspace Manager at the Scholars Studio. Hannah is a STEAM educator and artist coming to Temple from the Makerspace at the University of Maine. Hannah brings an interdisciplinary approach to prototyping and fabrication pedagogy through a BA in English and Studio Art from Bates College and an MPS from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University.

Hannah’s personal work uses sculpture to explore gender, language, and emotion, often combining custom sensors, DIY PCBs, electronic motors, and e-waste with soft materials and fabric. She has taught electronic arts courses at the high school, college, and continuing education levels. Hannah is interested in the way that developing technologies serve as a substrate for cross-disciplinary collaboration, worldbuilding, and social relating. She celebrates the spirit and site of the Makerspace as a welcoming arena for experimentation, creativity, and achievement within and beyond the classroom.
