Alex Wermer-Colan

Dr. Alex Wermer-Colan is the Academic and Research Director of Temple University Libraries’ Loretta C. Duckworth Scholars Studio. Alex is also Graduate Adjunct Faculty at Temple and teaches each semester the Cultural Analytics Graduate Certificate Practicum course. Alex holds a Ph.D. in English with a concentration in critical theory, digital humanities, and comparative literature from the Graduate Center, City University of New York. At the Scholars Studio, Alex leads project development, class visits, consultations, and workshops on computational approaches to cultural analytics and new media arts.

Alex works as the Managing Editor of the Programming Historian and the Executive Director of Philly Community Wireless. His creative and critical writing have appeared in such publications as The Los Angeles Review of Books, New Directions, Harpers, New Criterion, PAJ: A Journal of Performance and Art, Twentieth Century Literature, The Yearbook of Comparative Literature, dh+lib, The Journal of Interactive Technology and Pedagogy, Indiana University Press, and Lost & Found: The CUNY Poetics Document Initiative.
