Amateur Radio operators exchange confirmation of successfully two-way radio communications. In the immediate past the confirmation or QSL card exchange was sent by mail and posted prominently in the radio shack. In more modern times such QSL cards are exchanged by email and by submission to a verification site. The verification is performed to qualify for various awards, such as the ARRL Worked All States (WAS) or Worked All Continents (WAC) awards. Here are some QSL cards obtained by TUARC showing the diversity of world-wide radio communication. The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) callsign prefix (such as VP2 in VP2MDB) indicates the country location and can be found here.
