Monitoring ice tracer test with drone

My grad student Ashleigh Kirker is trying to understand overland flow and its sources.  We tested mapping overland flow with a controlled icewater input using our new drone with a thermal camera.  We pumped ice water from a black garbage can onto the hillslope. The drone did a pretty good job of mapping overland flow in grass that otherwise hides the water running downhill (dark area on IR image).  Chris Kobol and Susan Spinella-Sacks provided field assistance!
