Temple’s many strong educational partnerships around the world enrich the entire Temple community–students faculty and staff. Throughout each academic year, we are happy to welcome many of our global education partners to Main Campus, and to visit with partners at their campuses.


Chinese Consul General Makes 1st Official Visit to Temple – May 19, 2025

Ambassador Chen Li, the new Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in New York, visited Temple on May 19 to meet with Temple President John Fry.  Ambassador Chen was appointed to his position in October 2024.  This was his first official visit to Temple.

Temple Welcomes President of Fu Jen Catholic University from Taiwan – April 1, 2025

Temple and Fu Jen Catholic University have had an active collaboration since 2009. Last May, Temple sent a leadership delegation to meet President Yi-Chen Lan in Taipei, including then-President Richard Englert. On April 1, 2025, President Lan led a delegation in a visit to Temple to meet with President John Fry.

Temple Welcomes New Chinese Consul General Chen Li – December 4, 2024

Temple representatives—Vice Provost of Global Engagement and Dean of Temple University Rome, Emilia Zankina; Assistant Vice President of Global Engagement, Martyn Miller; and Assistant Dean of the Beasley School of Law, John Smagula, attended the reception in New York welcoming the new Chinese Consul General, Chen Li. U.S. Ambassador to Ecuador visits Temple as part of the Hometown Diplomats Program – November 20, 2024

Arthur “Art” Brown, Ambassador for the United States in the Republic of Ecuador, visited Temple University on November 20, 2024 as part of the State Department’s Hometown Diplomats Program. This program is designed to put a hometown face on foreign policy and to explain to America why diplomacy matters. While here, Ambassador Brown spoke with students in the College of Libera Arts about his experiences, careers in Foreign Service, and the work of the U.S. Department of State.

Temple Leadership Team Visits 5 Partner Institutions in India – April 2024

To support the Government of India’s recent initiatives to internationalize the Indian higher education system and to encourage further collaboration with our university, Temple executives visited five partner Indian universities in Spring 2024, Visiting executives from Temple included Provost Gregory. Mandel, and Global Engagement’s Vice Provost, Emilia Zankina and Assistant Vice President. Martyn Miller. Participants discussed opportunities to develop dual-degree programs, to promote the mobility of students and faculty, and to encourage joint research.

Taoyuan City Education Officials Visit Temple – July 22, 2022

Exploring Partnership with Egyptian Education and Cultural Bureau – February 8, 2022

During a day-long visit to both Temple’s Main and Health Sciences campuses, Egyptian Educational and Cultural Bureau (Washington, D.C.), Cultural Attachés Chaninda Ezzat, PhD, and Ali Massoud, PhD, met with Temple leadership and faculty and explored ways for Temple to partner not only with the Egyptian bureau and Ministry of Higher Education, but also with multiple other higher education institutions in Egypt.

Temple University Establishes Partnership with Al Alamein International University – February 7, 2022

Al Alamein International University (AIU) Board of Trustees Chair and Professor Rouchdy R. Zahran along with President and Professor Essam A. ElKordi visited Temple University with Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau attachés Dr. Chahinda Ezzat and Dr. Ali Massoud to establish a partnership between Temple and AIU.  During the day-long visit, conversations focused on potential collaborations and mobility in the disciplines of dentistry, medicine, pharmacy, and public health. The leadership of the two universities ended the visit with the signing of a general cooperation agreement.

University of Mumbai Signs Agreement with Temple University – December 2, 2021

Dominican Republic Minister Visits Temple to Initiate Partnership – October 20, 2021

Franklin A. Garcia Fermin (Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Dominican Republic) and a delegation from the Dominican Republic visited Temple University and its Sbarro Health Research Organization (SHRO) to discuss an agreement with Temple’s Office of International Affairs. The agreement would provide opportunities for talented students from the Dominican Republic in Temple’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs.
