Lauren E. Castellana
I grew up in Bear Creek, PA, which is just around twenty minutes from Scranton (… but no, I have never seen an episode of The Office!). After graduating from Temple University in May 2019 with a BS in Biochemistry, I began pursuing a MS in Biohazardous Threat Agents & Emerging Infectious Diseases at Georgetown University. After a few years in the workforce, I plan on enrolling in professional school. Eventually, I would like to work for the government, applying the knowledge I learned at Temple University, especially within the Borguet Group, and at Georgetown University, to protect the nation, particularly as it relates to biological and chemical-warfare agent use and infectious disease preparedness.
I joined the Borguet Group in Summer 2018 as a Frances Velay Fellow and continued my research throughout my senior year until I graduated. In addition to working in Dr. Borguet’s lab, I was also a Peer Advisor in the CST Advising Office.
