As a researcher on patients data, you should be certified by IRB. The process was not complicated for me, since my supervisors did the most administrative jobs. But there are online exams that a researcher need to pass. It took me about a week to finish all of the exams. Many of them was hard for me since it was more law terms which needed to find out the difference between the concepts of each term. I participated in eleven courses. The exams were open book, but time consuming.
Now, I have the certifications for one year to do research on “Development of Electroencephalogram Data Corpus” and “Development of Pathology Data Corpus”.
