Minorities and Philosophy is an international organization of students and faculty who are committed to examining and addressing issues of minority participation in academic philosophy. Temple’s MAP chapter, run by graduate students in the Philosophy department, hosts a number of student-run events and programs that intend to build community and to provide support for minorities in philosophy. Some of these activities include, but are not limited to, reading groups, mentorship programs, film screenings, panel discussions, conferences, and workshops on issues including teaching and diversity, communication techniques, navigating stereotype threat or implicit bias. All graduate and undergraduate students are welcome and encouraged to participate. If you have any questions, or if you are interested in becoming an active member of MAP, please email us at mapattemple@gmail.com.
