RT EBP Conference Awards
Awards are presented each spring during the in-person conference.
RT Wise Owl Award
This monetary award is given to a Temple University Recreational Therapy Undergraduate or Graduate student who demonstrates a commitment to the field of recreational therapy and recreational therapy evidence-based practice by presenting at conferences, infusing evidence-based practice into client care, involvement in evidence-based practice or research initiatives, taking on leadership roles within recreational therapy organizations, creating and implementing recreational therapy related initiatives, and/or mentoring fellow recreational therapy students.
RT Scholarship Award
This monetary award is provided to a full-time or part-time Temple University Recreational Therapy Undergraduate or Graduate student who has demonstrated merit and financial need.
John Noisette Award
This monetary award was established in 1986 by colleagues and friends of William Dayton, THM ’84, former faculty member in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies, to provide scholarships for students in the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences of the Temple University College of Public Health. The scholarship is awarded to a Temple University student enrolled full-time in the College of Public Health’s Recreational Therapy program at the time of the disbursement (Fall semester) that is a recognized leader and role model in the field of recreational therapy serving people with disabilities.
Bill Dayton Memorial Award
This monetary award was established in 1986 by colleagues and friends of William Dayton, THM ’84, former faculty member in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies, The William P. Dayton Memorial Scholarship is an annual scholarship given to an outstanding junior or senior student in Temple University’s Recreational Therapy Undergraduate degree program.
Martha Grace Armonio-Tan Scholarship Award
This monetary award was established in 2021 by the family of Martha Grace Armonio-Tan, former student in Temple University’s Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Department. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide an annual monetary award to a Temple University Recreational Therapy undergraduate student with financial need.
RT Alumni Award
This is personal award is given to a former graduate of Temple University’s Recreational Therapy Program for outstanding contributions to the growth and nurturance of the recreational therapy field.
Agency Appreciation Award
This award is given to agencies in appreciation of exceptional supervision of Temple University Recreational Therapy students during fieldwork and internship experiences.
