Geoscience Education
This collection of interdisciplinary projects uses cognitive science to explore different aspects of the geosciences as they relate to education.
The Geological Mind
This essay series, “Places that Reveal the Geological Mind,” we explored what goes on in a mind at the cutting edge of disciplinary practice and when first learning geology. We selected a series of places on Earth that reveal both geological processes and the mental processes that extract knowledge from rocks.
Spatial Thinking
This current project analyzes spatial skills and reasoning and their relevance for STEM education in late childhood and early adolescence.
