Dmitriy Dikin, Ph.D.

Scientific Director

My background is in physics, materials science, electron microscopy, and nanoscale characterization. My work focuses on advanced microscopy methods, interdisciplinary research applications, and teaching. Outside the lab, I enjoy backyard gardening, cross-country skiing, photography, and hands-on DIY projects.

Brody Mistrot, Ph.D.

Facility Manager

I’m the NIC’s postdoctoral fellow with a background in inorganic chemistry and experience in advanced materials characterization, including X-ray diffraction & scattering, Electron Microscopy, and thermal analysis. At the NIC, I focus on user support, instrument operation, and development of new facility capabilities. I’m eager to assist users in exploring all of the new capabilities our instruments can unlock!

Matas Simukaitis M.S.

I’m a 5th year PhD candidate in the Chemistry department with a background in heterogeneous photocatalysis and a strong focus on transmission electron microscopy and nanoscale materials characterization. I have experience in TEM sample preparation, imaging, and analysis. Outside the lab, I enjoy running, watching the Eagles, and exploring trying different Philadelphia restaurants.
