Workshops and Training Sessions at the Facility

Two-day workshop on cryo-FIB-SEM and advanced imaging of biological and soft materials.
The workshop will primarily focus on cryo-preserved biological, biomedical, and soft-material samples, exploring workflows from sample preparation and cryogenic transfer to high-resolution imaging, FIB cross-sectioning, serial Slice-and-View 3D imaging, and TEM lamella preparation. Thermo Fisher application scientists will demonstrate advanced cryo workflows using the Helios 5 Laser Hydra and Scios DualBeam, including cryo stages, cryo transfer via CleanConnect capabilities, and EasyLift lamella manipulation. The program will also address 3D reconstruction and analysis. It will also introduce Vitrobot-based cryo sample preparation (vitrification). Participants will be encouraged to discuss their own samples, research challenges, and potential projects with microscopy and imaging specialists.

Workshop on Scios FIB-SEM and advanced 3D microscopy and analysis.
The workshop covered FIB cross-sectioning, TEM sample preparation, correlative imaging, and 3D characterization for materials and life sciences. Thermo Fisher scientists led presentations, live Scios DualBeam demonstrations, and Avizo training in 3D visualization and AI-assisted analysis. Participants also discussed their own projects and potential collaborations.
