The research topic that I have chosen is the relationship between Philadelphia and the slave trade. I think out of my three topics, this one will be the most interesting to explore. I also think that this topic had to most widespread impact on people’s lives, the economy, and the government of the United States.
There are three major questions about this topic that I want to answer in my project. The first question is how did the slave trade entering Philadelphia affect the distribution of slave throughout the country? The second question I want to answer is how did the slave trade impact the economy of Philadelphia? And the final question I want my project to answer is when/why did the slave trade in Philadelphia stop?
