Dr. Sewall was invited to present at the annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Academy of Sciences on March 31st, 2012. In his presentation, he discussed the response of North American bat populations and communities to white-nose syndrome, an emerging disease affecting hibernating bats of the northeastern United States and Canada. This presentation formed part of the Symposium on Bat Ecology and Conservation, organized in response to the mounting threats facing bat species in Pennsylvania and across the continent.
