Dr. Sewall has presented his research on white-nose syndrome, an emerging disease leading to severe population declines in hibernating bat species in North America, to a research symposium sponsored by the Northeast Bat Working Group. The research, presented by Dr. Sewall on January 12, 2012, focused on correlates of susceptibility to the disease in bats. Such research is needed to identify populations most at risk of decline from the disease, and to increase understanding of causes of the declines.
