Shane Nieves, an undergraduate student at Florida Gulf Coast University, has won a grant from the Explorer’s Club Youth Activity fund, in national competition. This grant will provide him with funds needed to travel to Madagascar, where he will be a field assistant assisting Kim Reuter’s doctoral dissertation research this summer on mutualistic interactions between fruit-bearing trees and frugivores (fruit-eating animals). Congratulations to Shane and Kim!
