We have a unique prize offering for this year! Our friends at the DEFCON Social Engineering Community (SEC) are GENEROUSLY offering ONE winning team (all tracks eligible) with a GUARANTEED seat for the Social Engineering Community Vishing Competition (SECVC) at DEFCON 32 (team must still complete the pre-contest requirements as listed on SEC website).
Thus teams, should clearly state their preference during registration. Teams can only select ONE of the following options: consider for Vish contest ONLY OR cash prize ONLY.
Please note the following:
- All tracks are being considered for the SAME spot (ex: there is ONLY one seat for the vish, which may be given to either the winning grad team OR the winning undergrad team OR the winning high school team).
- The prize only guarantees a spot in either the vish contest. Teams are responsible for covering all expenses (travel, accommodation, meals, badge/registration, etc.)
- First place teams cannot double dip in the prize options. They cannot get a DEFCON SECVC prize and the cash prize. However, if your team wins first place but is not selected for the SECVC, you will get the cash prize. So, either way, if your team wins first place, you will win SOMETHING!!
- While every effort will be made to match the winning team’s choice to the DEFCON SECVC prize, the CARE Lab ultimately reserves the right to decide which team will be recommended for the guaranteed spot.

1st place: $3,000 (can be cashed out OR used towards DEFCON SECVC participation if team is chosen by the CARE Lab)
2nd place: $2,000
3rd place: $1,000
