For the second time, Temple Rome Professor Liana Miuccio collaborated with Brad Jamula, Adjunct Professor in the Photography Department at Tyler School of Art to enhance their students’ learning through a virtual platform.
This semester’s focus: “Truth” in Photography
“Photography has always been directly tied to ideas of ‘truth’ because of its ability to create impressions of things we experience in the world around us. Many photographic purists consider factual representation to be inherent to the medium, whereas others feel the truth of Photography depends more on the intentions of the photographer and the context in which it’s viewed. For this assignment, students were encouraged to make images that supported their particular version of a ‘truth’, and consider how their use of the photographic medium affected how that message was communicated to, and received, by others.”
