Submissions Are Open!

Emerge 2021 is open for submissions! If you are a student Temple Student who is creating work in an emergent media form, please consider submitting your work to Emerge. Our categories frequently change; please look at recent issues to see what they have been, but do not feel limited or restricted by this. And if you have any questions, please be in touch!

We are currently changing from an academic year to a calendar year publication schedule, and any work created in 2021 is eligible for submission for our next issue. If you wish to be considered for Volume 5 (2021), submit your work by the first day of classes Spring 2022.

Here is what you need to submit:

  • Project information: Project title, author name(s) and emails, brief written description, and class information (course title, professor name and email, semester, year)
  • Brief statement: How is this work an emergent media form?
  • Project: Submit all media file(s) and a link to access the work online
  • Documentation video or project traversal: This is a video that shows the complete project experience and explains how to engage with it. Please see examples here.

Please send your submission via email to Emerge co-curators Dr. Adrienne Shaw and Prof. Laura Zaylea with the subject heading “Emerge Submission – Your Name”.

Also, please note that all content must be original. If your project involves copyright protected material or outside collaboration, please email us in advance to discuss.
