Spring 2023 Registration

Registration for Spring 2023 is currently open. To submit a registration request, students must use the provided registration form. Please check your Temple email (tua12345@temple.edu) for the registration guide that was sent out. Submit a course request for Spring 2023 here.

Advising and FRA Appointments

The CTE Advisors and FRAs are accepting appointments for the semester!

For Advising, appointments are available to advise students on Certification ONLYthese are not degree-seeking advising appointments. Those who are Degree-seeking can still make an appointment but please be sure to select the advising session labeled for DEGREE-SEEKING/BCITE/Marketing Ed STUDENTS ONLY.

For FRAs, appointments are available for general meetings as well as Professional Education Portfolio Assistance. Please select the appropriate meeting type when selecting your appointment.

Provide your name, TUID #, and Temple email address when booking. If the appointment time is occupied, you will not be able to choose that time.

COVID-19: Keeping Our Community Safe

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, CTE has worked tirelessly to adapt to the rapidly changing environment. Our priority is always the health and safety of our teachers and staff while providing education and support during their time here at Temple.

Update from Pennsylvania’s Department of Education

There has been a recent change (1-1-2021) regarding Employment Experience Guidelines for the Occupational Competency Assessment. The employment experience requirement does not have to be within any time constraint. The “within 10 years” requirement has been removed. Please see below.

Appendix B – Employment Experience Guidelines

  1. The following is to be used to meet the employment experience requirement.
  2. A minimum of four years (8000 hours) comprehensive wage-earning experience beyond the learning period to include experience directly related to the occupation to be taught. Learning period is defined as formal educational or professional experience in which the person was being trained for the occupation to be taught.
  3. A minimum of four years (8000 hours) of military employment or service beyond the training period directly related to the occupation to be taught.
  1. The following are other employment experience considerations:
  2. Part-time work experience will be evaluated on the basis of four thousand (4000) clock-hours as equivalent to one calendar year.
  3. Work experience used in verifying occupational experience in one occupation may also be used to verify occupational experience in another closely related occupation.

NOTE: Secondary or Postsecondary teaching (including paraprofessional) experience in the occupational area cannot be counted toward the work experience requirement.

Supervisory experience in the industry setting cannot be counted toward the work experience requirement.
