For a Video/Phone * Peter d’Agostino
On May 29, 1981, a video/phone transmission took place between two groups:
my video workshop at UCLA,
with students and fellows from the Center for
Advanced Visual Studies at MIT — coordinated by Antonio Muntadas.
The event
was conceived as a research project to explore a video/phone system and to
develop and evaluate
its use in an arts and communication context. The event
was on AT&T’s Picturephone Meeting Service.
