Sophia defended her preliminary exam titled, “HRV Monitoring with Wearable Devices may facilitate Early Detection of Dementia” and dissertation proposal titled, “Digital Phenotypes from a low-cost smartwatch to inform early detection of ADRD”. She received a F31 predoctoral fellowship (2024-2026) to fund her dissertation.
Marina Kaplan (current research coordinator) won a travel award to the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology Conference in Scottsdale, AZ to present results from the Virtual Kitchen Intervention study. Kudos to Marina!

Dr. Rachel Mis and Dr. Katherine Hackett successfully defended their dissertations and completed their APA internships. Dr. Mis’s dissertation was titled, “Naturalistic Eye Movements as Clinical Markers of Everyday Cognition in Older Adults” and she completed internship at UCLA. Dr. Hackett’s dissertation was titled, “Validation of Smartphone-Derived Digital Phenotypes for Cognitive Assessment in Older Adults” and she completed internship at NYU Langone.
