Giao Vu,  quynhgiao.vu@temple.edu

I was born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam, and came to the United States in 2017 as an immigrant. I went to Montgomery County Community College and served in the US Army for a short amount of time. After that, I transferred to Temple in 2020 to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with plans of obtaining my Ph.D.

I am very interested in spectroscopy, molecular & bonding theory, crystallography, and material science. Therefore, being in undergraduate research will enhance my laboratory skills as well as build up my knowledge for future studies. I joined Dr. Borguet group in mid-spring 2022 to study about the mechanism of 3-D porous materials-metal organic frameworks (MOFs) and analyze UiO66/67 MOFs ability of toxic gas adsorption/desorption using infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and temperature-programmed desorption mass spectroscopy (TPD-MS) under ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) conditions.
