Google Analytics 4 Is On Its Way!

Out with the old and in the new! Universal Analytics is going away.

In 2019 Google introduced Google Analytics 4 as an improvement “for unified reporting and analysis” of both app and web data. As part of this transition, Universal Analytics — Google Analytics 4’s predecessor will be deprecated or sunsetted on July 1, 2023. This means that Universal Analytics will not process any new hits and users will be required to switch to the new analytics tool, GA4.

What Does This Mean for Temple University sites.temple.edu/ Users?

After July 1st, 2023 your website will not process any analytics data unless you create a Google Analytics 4 property. If you use MonsterInsights WordPress, it is recommended that you install the latest version to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Still have questions?

You can read more from Google and MonsterInsights about how to prepare for the transition.
