CHEMISTRY · CLASSROOMS · CLASSIC KAWASAKIS
The Rahman Lab
Also known as The KZ Lab.
My name is Zeshawn Rahman. I’m an educator by day, a researcher by night, and a vintage Kawasaki enthusiast on the weekends. I teach high school chemistry in Philadelphia and previously served as adjunct faculty in chemistry at Temple University.
This is where I share my work at the bench, in the classroom, and in the garage.
THE MISSION
Good chemistry is the best chemistry.
Make science approachable. Ask thoughtful questions. Learn through experimentation and collaboration. Help others build the confidence to investigate the world around them.
01 / CHEMISTRY & RESEARCH
From question to experiment.
My research experience spans organic synthesis and layered double hydroxide electrocatalysts. Explore the reactions, materials, abstracts, and posters behind the work.
02 / TEACHING
Students as scientists.
From university laboratories to high school chemistry in Philadelphia, my teaching centers on observation, experimentation, and explanation. I want students to ask questions, work with evidence, and see themselves as scientists.
03 / ABOUT & RECOGNITION
The person behind the lab.
I earned my B.S. in Natural Sciences with a chemistry concentration at Temple University, graduating with Distinction in Major. Research, teaching, peer leadership, and science outreach have shaped my approach to learning and working with others.
04 / THE KZ GARAGE
Old machines. New questions.
Classic Kawasaki KZ motorcycles, restorations, and the science behind the workshop. Another place to experiment, troubleshoot, and learn by doing.
Let’s make good chemistry.
