Honors Lounge – Tuttleman 201
We’ll have popcorn and pizza!
Join us for a movie night in the Honors Lounge! We will be watching the movie Philadelphia with a discussion led by Max Gaida to follow. Max is a graduate student in the History department and the instructor for a current Honors Special Topics Course – Exploring Queer History in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia was the first major Hollywood film to tackle the AIDS crisis—over a decade after the epidemic had first emerged. The movie marked a stunning shift in the mainstream portrayal of queer characters, moving away from exaggerated or harmful stereotypes toward more nuanced and humanizing representations.
