The Graduate Students of Language at Temple invite both graduate and undergraduate students to submit abstracts for our annual Language, Linguistics, and Life Conference. The deadline for abstract submission has been extended to February 3, 2025. The conference will be held in person and online (hybrid) on Friday, April 18, 2025, on Temple University’s campus. This year’s theme, Language in Society, explores language use across various social and educational contexts, and we will consider submissions from any language-related fields.
We are excited to welcome two featured speakers for this year’s conference: Dr. Almeida Jacqueline Toribio (Professor Emerita, the University of Texas at Austin) and Dr. Rachel Showstack (Associate Professor, Wichita State University).
We seek proposals for 15-minute oral paper presentations from graduate students, and posters from graduate and undergraduate students. We encourage presentations in English, Spanish, Portuguese, or other languages. Please find attached the call for papers, which includes more information on the conference. Abstracts should be a maximum of 300 words, not including references, and can be submitted at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=llc2025 by February 3, 2025.
For conference-related inquiries, contact the GSOLT Conference Committee (gsoltconferenceplanningcommittee@tuprd.onmicrosoft.com).
