Student worker opening – Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs

The Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs is seeking a student worker to provide administrative support to the office. Our office oversees faculty processes such as appointments, tenure and promotion, awards, leaves, and retirements, among others, and is looking for a student to assist in the daily operations necessary to complete such processes. Typical duties will include detailed reporting, data and document management, special projects, processing of faculty awards, and other administrative tasks. The incumbent will be working with confidential faculty documents and information.

Required skills and abilities: 

  • Ability to create and manage reports, including highly confidential faculty reports
  • Data management
  • Document management
  • Attention to detailĀ 
  • Ability to interact with diverse faculty
  • Ability to provide support to high-level personnel including the president and provost of the university
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skillsĀ 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable

Preferred skills and abilities:

  • Strong writing and proofreading skills
  • Database management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams

Work Study eligibility is preferred but not required. Interest in a future career in higher education is preferred. Incumbent should be in their freshman to junior year. Incumbent should be available to work approximately 15 hours per week, and should be available to work year-round. Hourly rate of pay: $11.25.
