Research Objectives

In the RISE lab, we design, control and test wearable systems of robots and sensors. From our investigations we aim to:

  1. Improve human gait performance by building light-weight, efficient, and safe powered devices.
  2. Provide real world measurements of gait and balance to better inform patients and clinicians.
  3. Make devices more responsive to human intent by improving the human-robot interface.
  4. Improve the learning and retention of humans using wearable devices by investigating the Neuromechanics of gait.
