Students can submit short (30 seconds), creative, and informative videos about explaining a cybersecurity or privacy problem and specific actions people can take to protect themselves online and safeguard their devices and personal data. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are partnering with RaicesCyber and welcome PSAs in Spanish! The U.S. Hispanic population reached 63.6 million in 2022, up from 50.5 million in 2010, and we want to do our part by sharing your PSAs with them to help them stay safe online! In the submission form, be sure to select Spanish as the language for your PSA entry.
Your PSA must include the following components in the 30-second duration:
- Clearly state/show the topic (catchy/informative) title at the beginning
- Explain what the topic is and why it is important
- Three steps to prevent/mitigate/protect
This year, the themes are:
- Tax scams
- Privacy and/or surveillance
- Deepfakes and/or disinformation
- E-waste recycling
- Using open-access networks safely (https, ad blockers, spoofing, VPNs)
- Cyberhygiene for small businesses
