Welcome to the Neurochemistry and Cognition (NECO) Lab website in the Department of Psychology at the Temple University.Picture 049

Our lab studies the neurochemistry of cognitive processes specifically those involved in attention and executive functions. Cognitive impairments represent an important attribute of major neuropsychiatric and age-related neurodegenerative disorders such as schizophrenia, drug addiction and Alzheimer’s disease. Our research program is motivated by the goal of achieving a better understanding of the underlying neurochemical causes of the cognitive dysfunction associated with these pathologies. This research is important because identifying the causal mechanisms along with potential biomarkers may allow us to design interventions to treat cognitive disorders.
