Dr. Fauzia Ahmad, the Director of the MSI Lab, has been awarded a three-year research grant from the Office of Naval Research (ONR) on “Robust Co-Prime Sensing with Underwater Inflatable Passive Sonar Arrays.” Dr. Ahmad serves as a Principal Investigator on this project and Dr. Bing Ouyang of Florida Atlantic University serves as a Co-principal Investigator. The overarching goal of this project is to develop a transformative approach for enabling an underwater deployable sensor network (UDSN). To this end, Drs. Ahmad and Ouyang will develop a prototype with associated signal processing capabilities to demonstrate the feasibility of the UDSN concept.
