Our vision is to transform the fundamental science of sensor technology that has the potential to exceed the capability of sensor systems found in nature. To accomplish this goal, we conduct our research to focus on the mechanism, material, and mechanics aspects. Specifically, we explore new sensing mechanisms inspired by nature, engineer advanced materials including nanomaterials and metamaterial, and develop a solid understanding of the underlying mechanics.
