Temple Rome Italian Virtual Cultural Labs

Temple Rome’s Italian language faculty collaborated with the Italian Department at Main Campus to offer Virtual Cultural Labs, which provided opportunities to learn about Italian culture and daily life while practicing their Italian. In a typical semester, TUR faculty would offer on-site Cultural Labs such as a local market tour at the Mercato, a ricotta making class, a scavenger hunt for street art around San Lorenzo, yoga, and even Italian with dogs. This semester, we offered Virtual Cultural labs that encouraged learners to explore Rome, make pesto, be introduced to classics in Italian cinema, and learn of the history of Italian fashion design and music.
