Math does not have to be a barrier to your progress in the major! The math mentoring program is an initiative to help Geology and Environmental Science students complete the math sequence required for their major.
Our goals:
- Provide students with one-on-one help from fellow EES majors who have completed their math requirement
- Create an informal environment for students to study and learn
- Help students to be better prepared for Calculus I and Calculus II by giving them a good background in Algebra and Precalculus
Students in the major are matched with a math mentor from the department to help keep them on track with their assignments and studying. We have study materials in Beury 303, so that mentors and students can use that room to meet and work.
