Dr. April Stabbins

Assistant Professor of Research, Cordes Lab, Department of Biology, Temple University

April Stabbins (she/her) is an Assistant Professor of Research in the Cordes Lab at Temple University, where she investigates the ecology of deep-sea habitats. Her research centers on the community structure, ecological interactions, and trophodynamics of deep-sea ecosystems, including hydrocarbon seep communities and cold-water corals.

Dr. Stabbins holds an M.S. in Marine Biology from Plymouth University and The Marine Biological Association in the UK, and earned her Ph.D. in Biology from Temple University. Her work integrates field research, ecological theory, and biochemical approaches to better understand the functioning and resilience of deep-sea communities in a changing ocean.
