Vivek Prakash
I joined the Borguet Group as a rising senior at Bridgewater-Raritan High School in Bridgewater, NJ. The summer of 2009 was the third summer that I had been doing research as an intern with the Borguet Group. I worked on research regarding the immobilization of biomolecules on silica surfaces. I continued previous research regarding the development of a new class of Self Assembled Monolayers.
I am also a 2009 New Jersey Governors School of Engineering and Technology scholar and a member of the rescue squad in my hometown. In school, I am heavily involved with both Asha for Education, a club/sub-chapter of which I founded in my school, and the Debate team.
In 2010 Vivek was accepted to Northwestern University’s Honors Program in Medical Education (7 year medical program), his top choice!
