Jessica Kolora, originally from the Bronx, NY, is a recent graduate from Temple University. She joined the research lab in the summer of 2023, drawn by the lab’s renowned expertise in analytical chemistry and its applications in environmental remediation. During her time in the lab, Jessica specialized in the use of spectroscopy for afterglow photocatalysis, specifically with metal oxides and Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), to combat the water pollution crisis and degrade chemical warfare agent stimulants. The lab’s collaborative environment aligned perfectly with her commitment to tackling pressing environmental issues.

Jessica has applied for pharmacy school and hopes to attend in the fall of 2024 to further her expertise in environmental toxicology. Outside the lab, Jessica enjoys baking and exploring the city of Philadelphia.
