Colin Murphy
Colin grew up only an hour outside of the Philadelphia area in a small, rural community near Pottstown. He received a B.Sc. in Chemistry and graduated in Spring of 2016. He hopes to attend graduate school and pursue a PhD in Chemistry in the future.
Colin has an interest in a variety of sciences (e.g. astronomy, physics and environmental science) and wants to learn about each of them. After joining the Borguet group at the beginning of the Spring 2014 semester, he studied the plasmonic properties of gold nanoparticles – specifically, trying to optically detecting the hot electron induced dissociation of H2 on gold nanoparticles.
Currently, Colin works as an analytical chemist at Depuy Synthes of Johnson & Johnson in West Chester through Kelly Scientific.
