The Automatic eXtensible Inferential Occupancy Monitor is a platform that synthesizes data from a smart home sensor network to make determinations about a user’s activity.
AXIOM monitors a user’s movements throughout a home on a continuous basis and detects routines. It then monitors for, and flags deviations from those routines in a nonintrusive manner.
The platform is extensible, and can be employed in areas such as incident-based emergency monitoring (enable cameras and notify a care giver or emergency services in case of an accident), physical therapy (measure increase in movement over time), and many other routine-based or deviation use cases.
