Dr. Ammar Ahmed and Dr. Yimin D. Zhang, together with Dr. Braham Himed of the Air Force Research Laboratory, are awarded a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for their invention of “System and Method for Distributed Dual-Function Radar-Communication“.
The patent develops new signal processing techniques to perform optimized distributed dual-function radar-communication operations using shared hardware. This patent was filed in April 2020 while Dr. Ahmed was a PhD student at the ASP Lab, performing signal processing research under the support of Air Force Research Laboratory.
This patent is assigned to Temple University and the Government of the United States, as represented by the Secretary of the Air Force.
