Recognizing his significant contributions to machine learning, Dr. Yimin D. Zhang has been elected as a Fellow of the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA).

The AAIA is an academic, non-profit and non-governmental organization with a mission to promote the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI) through academic research, academic exchanges, science education, science exhibitions, academic conferences, academic publications, summer/winter camps and other activities.

Among many contributions Dr. Zhang made in the areas of AI and machine learning, he developed novel machine learning techniques for automated road crack detection, radar target recognition and localization, and automotive radar systems.

Dr. Zhang is a Fellow of IEEE for contribution to high-resolution direction finding and radar signal processing and a Fellow of SPIE for achievements in computational imaging and applications to RF sensing.
