Welcome to our Lab

We are interested in the etiology and pathogenesis of biofilm-related oral diseases, with a particular emphasis on early childhood caries, one of the most prevalent chronic diseases affecting young children worldwide. By interrogating the complex ecological, microbial, and host factors that govern biofilm formation, virulence, and dysbiosis, we seek to uncover the mechanistic foundations that drive disease initiation and progression at the earliest stages of life.

Our research strategy is rooted in a robust translational framework. We leverage cutting-edge approaches to decode host–microbe interactions and identify actionable biomarkers and therapeutic targets. These fundamental discoveries are seamlessly integrated with rigorous patient-centered clinical investigation, ensuring that insights generated at the bench are intentionally and efficiently advanced to the chairside.

Through this multidisciplinary synergy, we strive to pioneer innovative diagnostic platforms for early risk assessment, develop precision-guided preventive strategies, and design targeted interventions that modulate biofilm dysbiosis. Our ultimate goal is to prevent oral diseases by transforming scientific discovery into tangible clinical solutions that safeguard oral health from the very beginning of life.
