Research activities: The Spano Group develops theoretical models to describe molecular aggregate and conjugated polymer photophysics and excited state dynamics. They are fascinated by the behaviors of collective excitations such as excitons, polarons and polaritions which arise from the coupling of electronic, vibrational and photonic degrees of freedom in molecular ensembles in free-space and in optical microcavities.
