In the RISC lab, Dr. Shipley studies a variety of topics that revolve around geoscience education. These include: feedback loops, uncertainty in geoscience data, reasoning about extreme weather, and the spatial and certainty information found in gestures. Almost all of the current work is interdisciplinary, combining cognitive science with expert knowledge of geology, meteorology, and other related fields.
