Personal Statement

As a DP/Cinematographer, I strive for the settings that I portray to be both life-like and vibrant. This doesn’t mean that everything has to be within the confines of conventionality, but can use reality and what is considered true-to-life as a stepping stone to accomplishing a desired vision.

My motivation as a cinematographer is to deliver visually appealing worlds in which both the filmmaker and the audience can relish in. My job is to work with the director, offering up my technical and visual storytelling skills to accomplish the final vision for a project. I enjoy the closeness of getting to know the director of a project, that way I can understand and draw on my knowledge to create the envisioned aesthetic. Getting to work with people in preproduction and on set is challenging and rewarding due to being amidst like-minded people that push me to do my best.

I take pride and responsibility in my work. I favor natural and stylized lighting setups along with personal and intimate shot composition to make the environments that I help create both believable, and with the liberty to visually pop.
